This may come as a surprise, but almost all healthy skin anti wrinkle cream on the store shelf doesn’t work. Now, what do I mean by “doesn’t work”? I mean that it simply does not prevent wrinkles or smooth out existing wrinkles. You may be shaking your head right now, thinking about leaving this article. But wait! If you read to the end, I promise you will agree with me.

How do I know that most anti wrinkle skin care products don’t work? Well, with most of them, I don’t even have to use it to know that it is crappy. First, I look at how the company chooses to advertise their skin cream. Do they buy magazine ads? Do they buy commercial spots on tv? Do they employ a celebrity actress or model as a spokesperson? If they do all these things (most big cosmetics companies do), what does that tell us?

Well, it tells me that the company is budgeting a lot of money for marketing. This seems backward to me. Shouldn’t a skincare company devote most of their capital to researching and developing the best ingredients? If a company devotes little resources to product development, that is worrying to me as a consumer.

Next, I look at the actual ingredients on the label. This is where you really find out if a healthy skin anti wrinkle cream is effective. Look at the label; are the ingredients all natural substances? Or do you see names of chemical compounds and other skin-irritating synthetics? Companies use these unnatural ingredients because they are cheap. Do you really want to buy anti wrinkle skin care products from a company that cares more about maximizing profit than consumer satisfaction?

Finally, here is the biggest hurdle an anti wrinkle cream has to overcome. Even if a product passes the first two points, it usually fails here. To be considered effective, a skin cream has to address the three root causes of wrinkles. What are they?

The slowing of collagen and elastin production

The breakdown of hyalouronic acid

Free radical oxidation damage

These three natural processes cause wrinkles. If the ingredients in a product don’t combat them, it is worthless in my mind. I don’t care what claims are made or how good it smells; all of that becomes irrelevant when you talk about the actual science of anti-wrinkle skincare.

So which natural ingredients stop these three big skin agers?

Well, I’ll leave that for another time. It’s much too important a subject to tack on to the end of this article. However, if you want to continue this discussion, visit my site now. There you can learn more about the root causes of wrinkles. And you can discover which natural substances in a healthy skin anti wrinkle cream work most powerfully against them.
